Menopause by Madeleine Cousineau Perhaps you are in your late thirties or early forties and wondering what is going to happen to your mind and body during the next ten or fifteen years. Or perhaps you are a few years older and already experiencing some of the signs of menopause - hot flashes, mood swings, vaginal dryness - and wondering whether you should consider filling that prescription that your doctor gave you for hormones. The drug industry has spent billions of dollars on advertising campaigns to convince you that you need hormone replacement therapy, despite reports of increased risks of heart disease and breast cancer from these drugs. Perhaps you have wisely decided not to believe this propaganda, and just don't buy the claim that the new pill with a lower dose of estrogens is perfectly safe. But what are you going to do if the symptoms get really difficult? What if you are not one of those lucky women who go through menopause with no problems at all? You may be happy to learn that there are safe and effective natural remedies for the difficulties that many of us experience at this point in our lives. I know because I've been there. When I was in my mid-forties, I began asking doctors, nurses, and older women what to expect, and getting the stock answer, "Every woman is different." So I had to educate myself, the hard way. I did a lot of reading on the subject. I tried natural remedies that worked for a while, but then my hormones would shift, and I would need something else. At one point my mood swings got so bad that I nearly lost a job. Finally I found a nurse practitioner who helped me to find the specific natural remedies that I needed. After that, I had no more discomfort. Along the way I had learned a lot about the foods, herbs, and nutritional supplements that help to alleviate menopausal discomforts, and had also learned about how to prevent osteoporosis and heart disease. Now I am fifty-eight years old, and happy to have survived the experience without dangerous drugs. I am also happy to say that my bones are strong, and my blood pressure and cholesterol are delightfully low. I would like to share this information with you. That is why I have written a booklet called Approaching Menopause Naturally: A Woman's Perspective. It lets you know what to expect, if you are not yet in menopause, and how to deal with the symptoms, if you are already having them. It provides specific information about a variety of natural remedies, and suggestions about when to start taking each one. It also contains information about the benefits of moderate exercise, gentle yoga, and meditation. The price is just $12.95, plus postage and handling. However, if you order this booklet before July 1, 2005, which is the publication date, the postage and handling will be free (for orders being sent within the United States only). Please select First Class Mail on checkout to obtain free shipping. To order this booklet please click here. You have nothing to lose. If you do not find the booklet helpful, you may return it for a full refund. Don't listen to the drug companies. Menopause is a natural transition and the natural means for helping us through this transition really work. |
